PYFL 7 on 7 Passing Tournament

Burbank Vikings Bantam players go 2-2 at their first ever 7 on 7 Passing Tournament. After working hard all spring, 9 Bantam players took the field representing the Burbank Vikings for the first time in its’ chapters history. The Viking Players were matched against two very good teams during the open pool games. Their first game was against the powerful North Oxnard Warriors. The North Oxnard Warriors were the 2007 PYFL Pee Wee Champions (tackle) and made it to the final 8 last year. On the last drive of the game, Burbank was trailing 10-8. After a long completion to ET, Burbank was on the North Oxnard’s 15-yard line. The next play Oxnard intercepts the ball and the game was over. The second game was against Castaic Cougars. On the last drive Guy Gibbs hits Brandon Beardt over the middle for the game-winning touchdown. The Vikings win 20-14. Their 3rd game was against the Santa Clarita Warriors. The Warriors were last year PYFL champions (tackle). The Vikings jumped to a 22-0 lead against Santa Clarita. Guy Gibb connected with ET on two long touchdown passes & Jake Kelley ran for a 37-yard touchdown. Final score 22-12 Burbank. On Sunday we were matched up again against #2 seeded North Oxnard. Oxnard was able to win the game 22-10 and also they went on to win the 7 on 7 passing tournament.
